Client: Georgia Banking Company (GBC)
Locations: Cumming, Georgia & Chastain Road, Atlanta, Georgia
Project Type: Signage & Wayfinding for Remodel/Occupancy Transition
Completion Date: September 2025
Overview
Miller EG Design partnered with Georgia Banking Company (GBC) to develop and implement a full suite of exterior signage and wayfinding elements at two key branch locations — one in Cumming, and the other on Chastain Road in Atlanta. Both projects involved retrofitting existing buildings for a new tenant while establishing a fresh, cohesive brand presence aligned with GBC’s visual identity.
These scope-intensive renovations included the integration of trimless LED channel letters, monument signage, wayfinding systems, and customer parking signage, all strategically designed to reinforce brand recognition and improve visitor navigation.

Cumming, Georgia
Scope of Work:
- Trimless LED Channel Letters:
One set of shoulder-mounted LED channel letters was installed, incorporating the convex green “seed” icon within the GBC logo. These were direct-mounted to the porch/overhang at the main entrance. - Custom Post & Panel Wayfinding Signs:
Two custom-fabricated, painted aluminum post-and-panel signs were placed at key vehicular decision points to improve site circulation and help direct customers to designated areas. - Monument Sign Renovation:
Existing monument signage was refreshed with new polycarbonate faces. These included digitally printed vinyl graphics to carry over the updated GBC branding. - Customer Parking Signs:
Custom aluminum parking signs were fabricated and installed to clearly delineate customer-only spaces, supporting an improved arrival experience.
Design Considerations:
Given the structure’s modern facade and overhang, the design team chose a minimalist letterform treatment with subtle LED lighting to avoid over-illumination and to enhance clarity day and night. Material selection prioritized durability and color retention, with powder-coated finishes and UV-resistant graphics for all components.
Chastain Road, Atlanta, Georgia
Scope of Work:
- Two Sets of Trimless LED Channel Letters:
Installed on the primary building facade, both sets were mounted on custom-fabricated and painted aluminum backer panels, which were then directly affixed to the structure. This allowed for clean installation without penetrating the brick exterior excessively, while still providing contrast and legibility. - Monument Sign Redesign:
The existing monument received a custom-built roof, replacing a deteriorated structure. Integrated spotlighting in the eaves now illuminates newly fabricated aluminum face panels, featuring dimensional, painted aluminum letters that reflect the brand’s quality and professionalism. - Wayfinding and Parking Signage:
Two custom aluminum wayfinding signs were installed to assist with site navigation, alongside new customer parking signs designed to match the brand’s visual language.
Design Considerations:
For Chastain, the use of dimensional lettering on a flat back panel provided an elegant solution to installation constraints posed by the brick facade. The monument sign’s new roof adds architectural interest while improving visibility through lighting integration. Care was taken to align all new elements with existing architectural forms and GBC’s established brand palette.
Project Impact
This dual-site rollout of refreshed signage was completed under tight timelines, with GBC operations continuing during installation. Miller EG Design coordinated closely with contractors and stakeholders (as reflected in correspondence from GBC’s Chief Banking Systems Officer) to adapt to site conditions and deliver a solution that communicates professionalism, clarity, and brand consistency across multiple environments.
Both locations now stand as strong visual representations of GBC’s customer-focused approach and modern banking identity.
